About Yarnell Art

Yarnell Art is the official home of the original Jerry Yarnell School of Fine Art and Inspiration of Painting PBS television series. We own and preserve the master recordings of these shows, and it’s an honor to make Jerry’s teaching available for artists around the world.

Although we are not related to Jerry Yarnell or his family, we have been devoted fans of his work for many years. Jerry’s calm, encouraging, step-by-step approach has inspired countless artists—ourselves included—and it is an honor to help keep his lessons accessible for future generations. Thank you for joining us in celebrating and preserving Jerry’s remarkable legacy.

The Yarnell Art Story

Yarnell Art has been in business since 1999. The company was originally founded and owned by Jerry Yarnell. After years of running a full art supply and instructional business, Jerry decided he wanted to focus solely on his passion—painting—and sold the business and copyrights to his brother, Scott Yarnell.

Scott and his family faithfully operated Yarnell Art for many years. Then, in March of 2017, they sold the business to the Inspiration of Painting Company, which manages the highly popular Inspiration of Painting PBS video series that aired nationwide throughout the 1990s.

Our Mission Today

While Yarnell Art and Jerry Yarnell are no longer affiliated personally, we remain the only authorized source for the complete collection of Jerry Yarnell School of Fine Art instructional videos—168 exclusive titles from the long-running PBS series. Each lesson takes you step-by-step through creating beautiful paintings using acrylics, oils, or watercolor, all from the comfort of your own home.

We also proudly offer the full catalog of Jerry’s original Inspiration of Painting PBS series, cherished by viewers across the United States.
