Oil Palette Layout sheet
The Oil Palette Layout sheet for our Jerry Yarnell School of Fine Art and Inspiration of Painting series of oil painting instructional videos will be helpful in arranging your oil paints and giving you an idea of the brushes and supplies you will probably need to complete an oil painting (see links below for our favorite Art Supply Store).
If you are allergic to traditional oil paints, or just don't like messing around with smelly turpentine, we highly recommend the "Water Mixable" Artist Oil Colors. There are now several Professional Quality Water Mixable Oil paint brands available (It appears Grumbacher has discontinued its line of Max Oil Water miscible paints, although there are a few art suppliers selling their old stock).
The water mixable oil paints (also called water miscible or water soluble) are identical to conventional oil colors but have the great advantage that they thin and clean up with regular water. With water mixable oil paints there is no need for smelly turpentine or mineral spirits!
